Chiron died by pure chance: he was hit by the arrow of Hercules, poisoned by the poison of the hydra, which was not intended for him. The centaur was immortal, so the wound did not kill him, but even his knowledge of medicine could not get rid of the pain caused by the poison. The thought that this pain would become his eternal companion was unbearable for Chiron, so he invited Prometheus to grant him his immortality.
Prometheus agreed, Zeus confirmed this deal, and Chiron voluntarily went to the dark kingdom of Hades. According to another version, the centaur already wanted to die, because it was too long and had time to bore him.
The Sagittarius constellation, which is also called the Centaur constellation, reminds us of wisdom, the importance of the role of mentor and teacher.
