The scene is modeled on the Christian resurrection before the Last Judgment. The angel, probably Matatron, is depicted blowing a large trumpet on which hangs a white flag with a red cross. A group of people (man, woman and child) with a grayish complexion stand up with outstretched hands and admire the angel. The dead come out of crypts or graves. Huge mountains or tidal waves are visible in the background.
