Lemon quartz is a bright yellow mineral that literally screams with its color. He has a rich, colorful, almost neon. In fact, this is a really beautiful stone, which, of course, attracts attention.

Very often it is confused with another semi-precious variety of this group - citrine. This mineral is also colored in yellow shades, however, not so bright and saturated. However, lemon quartz will definitely lose in the fight. Let's see how these two stones differ.

So, citrine is a variety of the quartz group, a relatively inexpensive semi-precious mineral, has a color from light yellow to amber-honey. Transparent, luster - glass. This is a natural gem, which is quite rare. According to the classification of E. Ya. Kievlenko, it belongs to class IV precious stones.

What is lemon quartz then?

It so happened that most of the citrines are processed amethysts or quartzes with a smoky color. To get a yellow mineral, they are simply heated to certain temperatures, due to which they lighten and acquire yellowish tones. However, unlike natural citrine, such a stone will have a slightly noticeable red overflow. Here you should be careful and carefully consider the structure of the gem.

Important! Natural citrine does not have saturated colors. As a rule, it is a pale yellow shade with a barely noticeable effect of pleochroism.

But lemon quartz is false citrine. Such stones are obtained exclusively in the laboratory, that is, artificially grown, synthesized. Thanks to science and modern technologies, scientists manage to give such a stone a bright and saturated color, remove various defects that are found in natural crystals anyway.

Essentially, the lemon gem is perfect. It is shiny, smooth, with a uniform color, does not contain cracks and bubbles, is flawlessly transparent and sparkles with all its facets.

Properties of Lemon Quartz

Since we have already found out that this stone is a synthesized mineral, we won’t have to talk much about the properties. This is just a jewelry insert that is not endowed with energy power. Only natural minerals are able to help a person, protect him and treat some diseases. Gems grown in the laboratory do not have such abilities.

For the same reason, this stone is suitable for all signs of the zodiac. However, it will not carry any significance in a person's life.
