Spessartine, which is used in the jewelry industry, is found mainly in Sri Lanka, Brazil, the USA, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Mexico, Italy, and on the island of Madagascar. It is noteworthy that Brazil and Madagascar became famous for their unique gem crystals, the mass of which was more than 100 carats.

Rhodolite

Rhodolite, as mentioned above, is a variety of pyrope (bright red garnet). This gem has a pink tint that is purer and brighter. And if spessartine is also found in other colors, then rhodolite is formed exclusively in pink tones. Perhaps that is why it was officially identified as a separate mineral, thanks to the American mineralogist B. Anderson.

Deposits are known in Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Madagascar and Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, this is a rather rare gem. However, there are cases when minerals weighing more than 10 carats were found.
