This is one of the symbols of Adinkra, originating from the culture of the Akan people living in the territory of modern Ghana in West Africa. The Adinkra group of symbols refers to the history of people, beliefs, philosophy and proverbs of the Akan people. Tabono's symbol is a combination of four oars or flippers, symbolizing strength, confidence, hard work and achieving goals despite difficulties.
