Hugin and Munin

Hugin and Munin ("Thought" and "Memory") are twin crows in Scandinavian mythology. They are the servants of the Scandinavian father god Odin. According to legend, they are sent every morning to collect news, and at dusk they return to Odin. Every evening they report events from all over the world They whisper the news in Odin's ear.

Ravens and crows are usually not a lucky sign. In most cultures, these birds are a symbol of misfortune, war or disease - they are often seen circling over the battlefield or while feeding the fallen. Despite these negative qualities, people also perceived the remarkable intelligence of ravens - these birds often symbolize messengers (or news), as, for example, in the case of "The Ravens" of Hugin and Munin.
