James and Voaz

James and Voaz - In the mystical Jewish Kabbalah, Joachim (sometimes Yakhin or Yahim) and Boaz are a pair of pillars located in the Temple of Solomon. Yahim he represents the masculine element of the universe, that is, light, movement, activity. Boaz he represents the feminine principle of the universe, that is, darkness, passivity, sensitivity and silence. The pillars are similar in concept to the Eastern Yin Yang, representing the opposition and balance of the world.

One Masonic legend says that the philosopher Pythagoras discovered the pillars with Hermes Trismegistus and then used them to reveal all the secrets of geometry.
