EU flag

EU flag

The flag is a circle of twelve gold stars on a blue background.

Blue indicates west, the number of stars indicates completeness, and their position in the circle indicates unity. The stars do not differ depending on the members of both organizations, as they must represent all European countries, even those that are not part of European integration.

After receiving official approval from the Council of Europe, the European flag was first officially raised on 29 May 1986 in front of the European Commission.
