Pero Maat

The Maat feather is one of the most common Egyptian symbols, used in hieroglyphs. Goddess Maat represented justice in Egyptian culture and the Maat pen can be seen in the context of "ensuring justice" in ancient inscriptions. This is because the ancient Egyptians believed that a person's heart would be weighed against Peer Maat in the Hall of Two Truths when the soul entered the Duat. If his heart were found to be the same or lighter, it would mean that he was a virtuous person and he would go to Aara (paradise ruled by Osiris). If not, then his heart will be eaten by Ammit, the goddess who ate the soul, and he will be cursed to remain in the Underworld forever.
