Goldfish

Goldfish - One of the eight auspicious symbols in Buddhist iconography (belongs to Ashtamangala). They symbolize joy, freedom and fearlessness.... Both fish originally represented the two main sacred rivers of India - Ganges i Yamuna... In Buddhism, fish symbolize happiness because they can move freely in the water. They also symbolize fertility and abundance. They are often painted in the form of a carp, which is considered sacred in the East for its elegant beauty, size and longevity. In Chinese folk belief, a pair of fish is considered a lucky gift to a married couple.
