WHAT IS SKINCEUTICALS RETINOL 0.3?

Dermatologists are open about how often they recommend their patients use retinol. This word is mentioned in many skin care conversations, to the delight of many who have experienced the benefits of this ingredient for their skin. For those of you who are not so familiar, retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and has been shown to address a host of skin concerns, from signs of aging to skin texture and tone.

SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.3 joins other retinol products in the SkinCeuticals portfolio, including Retinol 0.5 and Retinol 1.0. This is a cleansing night cream with 0.3% pure retinol.

WHAT CAN SKINCEUTICALS RETINOL 0.3?

SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.3 boasts pure retinol that revitalizes the skin and helps reduce the appearance of aging skin, including wrinkles and fine lines caused by environmental exposure or chronological aging. It is the ideal choice for skin with photodamage, imperfections and enlarged pores.

The benefits of topical retinols are not limited to the signs of aging. Numerous clinical studies have shown that retinol has a rejuvenating effect on the skin, accelerating cell turnover, helping to smooth the appearance of the skin, improve its sagging and tone.

To get even more out of retinol, some skincare experts recommend pairing it with other ingredients like vitamin C and hyaluronic acid. Find out how to combine retinol with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid here!

SKINCEUTICALS RETINOL 0.3 REVIEW

To be honest, using retinol on my skin - I haven't even tried it - was a little unnerving. It's not just that it's almost good to be true, but I'm not the type to routinely deviate from my usual skincare and products. Given retinol's track record of success, in addition to its potent power, I wasn't sure how my skin would react to its first use. Fortunately, my fears were unfounded.

If you're like me - new to using retinol - the golden rule is to increase your skin's tolerance for this ingredient. This means using a lower concentration to start with and gradually increasing it over time. That's why SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.3 is such a great preliminary step. It has the lowest concentration of retinol of the three products in the brand's portfolio of retinol products. As you get more and more used to retinol, you will eventually be able to switch to SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0.

I used retinol 0.3 during my night skincare routine. You should only use the cream at night, as retinol can make your skin sensitive to light. It is essential to take sun protection measures such as applying broad spectrum sunscreen during the daytime when using any retinol product. After evenly applying the cream to my face, I monitored my face for signs of irritation. Fortunately, there were no visible signs of irritation, so I went to bed to let the cream work. I am looking forward to using Retinol 0.3 for a few more weeks to see if the appearance of my skin improves and hopefully move up to the higher concentration without any problems.
