Training, breakthrough? Why do you relapse after the gym

Exercise is good for our mind, body, and soul, but all that sweat can be hard on the largest organ in our body. You noticed pimples and pimples appear after going to the gym? You are not alone. Downstairs, facial and body care specialist in The Body Shop, Wanda Serrador, talks about five possible causes of breakouts after a workout, as well as how to break the cycle. Hint: you might want to ditch the headphones.

1. YOU WORKOUT WITH MAKEUP

“We can get very hot and sweaty during training. Your makeup, residual dirt and sweat from your workout is a potentially pore-clogging combination,” Serrador explains. “In order to avoid facial acne, it is very important to exercise without traces of makeup or pollution, and instead start your workout with clean, fresh skin.” She advises waiting at least 30 minutes before putting on makeup after a workout.

2. THEN YOU DO NOT CLEAN EFFECTIVELY

“Your pores open up when you sweat,” Serrador says. And during exercise helps your skin Eliminate buildup that can clog pores and cause acne, she explains that you must ensure that you are effectively removing the accumulation of toxins from the surface of your skin after exercise. She recommends trying a tonic or essence-clearing lotion.

3. YOU SKIP THE SHOWER

after training, always choose a shower“not a bath,” Serrador says. "That way you get rid of sweat from all over your body." Also, she says, make sure you shower right now.

4. YOU DON'T WASH YOUR HANDS

“You can easily transfer bacteria from your hands to your face,” she says. “Even if you clean equipment before working out at the gym or at home, you still need to wash your hands before and after your workout.”

5. YOU WEAR HEADPHONES DURING WORKOUT

“Wearing dirty headphones during and after exercise can [contribute] to acne because they collect sweat and can transfer bacteria to the skin,” Serrador warns. "If you must wear them, be sure to keep them clean."
