Meet Dorion Renaud, Founder of Buttah Skin
From time to time you see someone with such flawless skin that you have to track him down and ask for details. their skin care routine. Even more rarely, when you ask, they tell you that their brand is responsible for the glow. Such is the case with the actor and founder of the brand Dorion Renault, whose skin is so smooth you can almost see your own reflection. We recently caught up with him to get the secrets of that flawless skin, the biggest achievement of his career and how he started his career.
How did you start your career?
I started modeling at 17 and eventually got noticed when I entered college. I started filming a show called College Hill it documented my college experience which turned out to be awesome. My story had a huge impact and I started hosting and eventually got acting gigs like my role on Bounce TV. Cutaway where I played Percy for the last five seasons.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start Buttah because it was necessary. I felt that African Americans and people of color are being ignored when it comes to quality skin care. I couldn't find a section for myself in high-end retail stores, and that discouraged me. I wanted to feel involved, and I wanted the same for my people.
Biggest pinch me moment in your career so far?
To be honest, I have seen and done so many things and I feel so blessed. Besides seeing myself on my first billboard at 19, my vision for Buttah Skin came to life, it was exciting. I'm still not used to seeing my name on a box in someone's closet.
What is your current skin care regimen?
My skin care is simple. i use mine Full set of Buttah Skin. It is a gentle cleanser, vitamin C serum and shea butter moisturizer. It keeps me radiant all day long, while Vitamin C provides healthy texture and tone.
What are your favorite pharmaceutical products?
I love witch hazel, facial scrubs, and good shower products.
Which campaign are you most proud of?
I am very proud of my new campaign in which we show all shades of melanin! We are complex and we have different tastes. I want every shade to feel love!

What is your best advice for those who want to start their own cosmetics company?
Look inside yourself, start with the traits that make others smile when they see you, and bring that into your company. As a leader in the beauty industry, we want people to feel confident. You can't do this if you don't have confidence.
What beauty industry trend are you most excited about in 2019?
I love the inclusion of people of color. This is a new wave, so I'm interested to see all the products we create.
How is a day in your life?
I wake up, pray, go to the gym, call my family to get my morning motivation and start the day. In my business, every day is different, but I try to start and end my day with peace and intent.
Who or what inspires you?
My family inspires me because they push me, and my friends inspire me because they accept me. I am also inspired by anyone who constantly strives to be themselves and live purposefully. We have lost the great Nipsey Hussle, whom I also had the honor to call family. He showed me, as a black man, that anything is possible when you stick to a goal and create your own. The marathon continues!
