Why Lancôme Hydra Zen Glow Moisturizer is my go-to for glowing skin

I am without a doubt a glow enthusiast. My daily makeup consists of trying to create a beautiful radiant glow all year round, no matter the weather. I admit, however, that my wet summer makeup, filled with all my favorite powders and liquid highlighters, is much easier to do than during the colder winter months. And that's because my skin gets significantly drier at this time of year (think), and hence my desirable complexion with an inward glow tends to look drier and flakier (sigh). Luckily for me, Lancôme just released the Hydra Zen Glow Moisturizer and gifted me a bottle for the purposes of this review. Trust me when I say it has completely changed my winter skincare and makeup for the better. Go ahead, read my mind. 

Hydra Zen Glow Moisture Formula 

The latest edition of the brand's Hydra Zen collection is a daily moisturizer with skin-friendly ingredients. The formula is infused with hyaluronic acid, 14 amino acids and organic aloe vera to give your skin the layer of hydration it needs while also protecting the skin's water barrier. It's important to maintain your skin's moisture barrier because that's what protects your skin from external aggressors - think pollution and UV rays in the environment. You want your skin's barrier to be hydrated so that it can keep the good things (also called moisture) inside and the bad things. This moisturizer also helps prevent the visible signs of stress caused by the environment or other factors, leaving skin soft, smooth and revitalized. 

My thoughts

When I first put a few drops of moisturizer on my hands, to be honest, I was a little nervous about how lightweight the formula was. Like I said, at this time of the year my skin needs all the help to prevent dryness and I wasn't sure if a light consistency would be enough. However, after applying the moisturizer all over my face, I was quickly and pleasantly surprised. It starts out as a very light, almost liquid texture and then thickens like a cream as you massage it on your face. Result? My skin is more nourished than I thought. I also immediately fell in love with the sweet, subtle scent of the moisturizer. The best part is that after it my skin was hydrated and looked as radiant as it was in summer. Because my skin stays hydrated and radiant after every use, I honestly feel pretty comfortable ditching my long line of highlighters and just letting this moisturizer shine because, yes, it's that good. I'm so happy with this moisturizer's nourishing power during the dry winter months that I can't wait to see how it completely transforms my summer makeup for a fresher complexion. Keep for updates.
