Editor's Review: CeraVe Makeup Remover Moisturizing Pads are ideal for dry skin

The following statement might call me a bad beauty editor, but here it is: I hate I wash my face. To clarify, I wash my face, but only when I'm in the shower. I tried to wash over the sink, but the water runs down my hands every time, and I just can't stand this mess.

I love makeup wipes but have struggled to find a formula that leaves my dry skin hydrated. When CeraVe announced their new Plant-Based Makeup Remover Moisturizing Wipes, I had a feeling that they would be exactly what I was looking for. The brand sent me a few packs to try and the wipes passed my personal test with flying colours.

Review of CeraVe Plant-Based Makeup Remover Moisturizing Wipes

If I'm going to include makeup remover wipes in my daily routine, they have to do two things. First, they must be able to effectively remove my makeup, including waterproof mascara; and two, they should leave my skin fresh, not tight or dry.

I was very optimistic that the CeraVe Hydrating wipes would hydrate and refresh my skin even before I opened them, purely because of the ingredient list, which contains ingredients like glycerin that are commonly found in moisturizers.

However, hydration is only part of the equation. I tested makeup removal options on two different occasions: when I was wearing simple everyday makeup (concealer, mascara and lip gloss), and in the second - full glam with red lipstick, foundation and eyelashes. work.

Everyday look is incomparable to wipes - they quickly and gently removed makeup without jerking me, and the skin remained clean, fresh and, most importantly, moisturized. I had high hopes before I tested them, but I did not expect wipes to remove all traces of makeup so easily.

However, the real test was with a glamorous look. Even though the make-up on my face didn't wash off as smoothly, the wipes still removed everything with little effort. The hardest part was getting the mascara off - I had to rub my eyes pretty hard to get it off my lashes, but I'm happy to report no irritation left on my skin.

But the main thing for me is how they make my skin feel after all the makeup is washed off. My skin looks fresh and softer than usual.

I'm happy to have found makeup wipes that do everything from gently removing make-up (both casual and glam) to refreshing and hydrating skin, not tightness or dryness. I will definitely keep them in my vanity for years to come.
