New year, new days! 11 skincare products to add to your stash in January

It's a new month (and year!) which means new products are showing up in our bathroom cabinets and skin care products. These are the products that Skincare.com editors can't live without this January.

CeraVe Acne Cleansing Foam...

Oh how I wish I could use this cleanser on my acne prone skin! It contains benzoyl peroxide, which helps get rid of blackheads, blemishes, and ceramides, which is important because people with acne have been found to have lower lipid levels in their skin. Unfortunately, despite the moisturizing hyaluronic acid, my very dry skin cannot tolerate it. My husband, however, has normal to oily skin that is also breakout prone and uses it every day with incredible results. I'm so jealous!

…as well as Retinol Repair Serum

But Resurfacing Retinol Serum we can both use. It contains ceramides and encapsulated retinol which is mild enough for my sensitive skin. Since I started using it, I have noticed a noticeable disappearance of cystic acne marks that have persisted for several months and my husband finds his pores look smaller. Win-win.

YSL Beauty Pure Shots

When it comes to serums, I like to have a lot of options at my disposal, especially since I feel like I face different skin issues at different times of the year. Between dry skin and discoloration, sometimes I need some hydration or a powerful dose of vitamin C, and I love how the YSL Pure Shots set gives you the option to choose what you think your skin is missing. From iris-infused hyaluronic acid to vitamin C and Y serum peptides to choose from, I never run out of options, no matter what my skin mood is. Plus, each one comes in eco-friendly reusable packaging for a more eco-friendly routine.

Deodorant Native Vanilla + Chai

As the seasons change I love to change my deodorant scent and this time I really like the new Vanilla + Chai Scent scent. This sweet-smelling formula is not too subtle, but not too strong, and it leaves my skin instantly warm and cozy after a shower. What's more, like other Native deodorants, it's completely aluminum-free, which I really like.

IT Cosmetics Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep Night Cream

Like most people, I find that one of the downsides of a luxurious ultra-moisturizing night cream is that it can take a while to absorb into the skin and risk coming off your pillowcase as a result. IT Cosmetics Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep Night Cream solves this problem with its unique "memory foam technology". It has a bouncy, lightweight texture with a fun lavender undertone that makes it a pleasure to apply.

Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Micropoint for blemishes

I've been lucky enough to rarely run into acne (thanks retinol), but when it does, the first thing I take is an acne patch to get the job done. These new micopoint patches from Hero Cosmetics contain 173 hyaluronic microneedles that penetrate pimples and treat them with acne-fighting ingredients like salicylic acid. This helps reduce the inflammation around the pimple and most importantly keeps me from touching it so the pimples heal faster.

La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Facial Serum

Vitamin C is the gold standard for bright and glowing skin, so it's a must in my daily skincare routine. Lately, I really like the La Roche-Posay Vitamin C Serum because not only does it make my skin look more radiant, soft and hydrated, but it also contains salicylic acid, which helps fight uneven skin texture and wrinkles. I like to use it right before my moisturizer every morning for a little brightening and antioxidant boost.

Mediheal Intensive Pore Clean Cleansing Foam

I have a complex combination skin type, so I am very picky in choosing cleansers. I want something that will deeply cleanse my oily T-zone without stripping moisture from other dry areas of my face. Lately, this Mediheal Intense Pore Cleansing Foam has been the answer to my prayers. Formulated with charcoal, this creamy-foamy cleanser removes pore-clogging impurities while leaving a layer of hydration thanks to moisturizing ingredients.

La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Pure Retinol Serum

I usually use prescription gel retinols at night, but the texture sometimes makes my skin too sticky and doesn't absorb for my liking. Enter the new La Roche-Posay Retinol Serum. I get all the anti-aging effects of pure retinol with a gradual release in a lightweight serum. Since I started using this product in my routine, my skin has become hydrated, smooth and radiant.

Lavido Age Away Repair Cream

My New Year's resolution for 2020 is to start incorporating more pure beauty into my skin care. My first step? Follow with Lavido's ultra-hydrating, revitalizing plant-based night cream. I have already noticed that my skin texture is smoother and my overall complexion is plumper and healthier. The product is super creamy, has a slight (and very pleasant!) citrus scent, and works so well that you'll quickly become obsessed.

Kiehl's Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Cleanser

As someone with a fairly severe case of rosacea, I'm always trying to find products that soothe my skin, especially during the colder months when I experience flare-ups like no other. Try Kiehl's new Sativa Hemp Seed Oil Cleanser and I can nip the redness in the bud early in my routine. Sativa Cannabis Seed Oil evens out the complexion, while the gel texture gently cleanses without feeling dry. Pro Tip: Pair it with Kiehl's Herbal Sativa Hemp Seed Oil Concentrate for the perfect combination for sensitive skin.
