Night Foods You Really Want to Sleep In

You have heard it over and over. Get your beauty dream. Getting extra fatty acids is a cause for joy in itself, but at the same time it can improve the appearance of your skin. While you might assume that being able to sleep longer and improve the look of your skin will make almost everyone reach for the snooze button, many still suffer from sleep deprivation and its mostly unattractive skin side effects such as dark circles, puffiness under the eyes, and dullness. Since it is during deep sleep that our skin undergoes natural repair and regeneration, constantly depriving this time of too short hours of sleep can lead to tired (and tired-looking!) you.

Knowing this to be true, the beauty industry is rife with overnight products that promise to help your skin even if you haven't gotten enough Zzz. Result? I wake up with a gorgeous complexion, of course! We know, we know - this sounds like a clever trick. With some products, of course, maybe. But you'd be happy to know that a significant portion of these purchases can actually change the look of your skin while you sleep without causing irritation or messing up your pillowcase. These overnight formulas are the ones you really want to invest your time and money in. To make things easier, we have gone ahead and listed them for you below. Keep reading to discover some of our favorite night skin care products from the L'Oreal portfolio of brands!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque

Want to boost your skin's moisture levels overnight? Look no further than this overnight formula from Kiehl's. In just one application, this ultra-hydrating mask, infused with Ophiopogon Japonicus extract, glacial proteins and desert plants, fills the skin's "hydration reservoir" to help reduce moisture depletion. You will fall in love with how smooth, soft and supple your skin will be in the morning!

Editor's tip: Allow the formula to absorb into the skin for approximately 10 minutes before resting your head on the pillow. Once the time is up, use a tissue paper to remove any excess formula except for a thin layer.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Hydrating Night Mask, MSRP $35.

Decleor Aromessence Ylang Ylang Cleansing Balm

This 100% natural dry balm contains essential oils that help to deeply cleanse the skin, shrink pores, restore radiance, reduce imperfections and soothe the skin. Result? The skin is soft and cleansed upon waking up. Night after night, the skin regains its natural balance.

Decleor Aromessence Ylang Ylang Cleansing Balm, MSRP $42.

Lancôme Energy of Life Night Mask

Awaken tired, dull skin with this antioxidant-rich overnight mask. Enriched with goji berries, lemon balm, gentian and vitamin E, this anti-fatigue formula helps intensely hydrate skin for a softer, fresher, and more comfortable look in the morning. In addition to its beneficial properties for the skin, you will appreciate that the mask does not leave a greasy film or stickiness and is quickly absorbed into the skin.

Lancôme Energie de Vie Night Mask MSRP $65.

As much as we love nighttime foods, they should never replace real sleep. If you're notorious for staying up all night before exams or staying up late with friends, consider the implications of these actions on your appearance.
