We got Sir John to reveal his skin care secrets

Why does he say it takes a little work to wake up like this

Think you have nothing in common with celebrities? Think again. Even the most flawless women have "moments," as he calls them. "Even if you're a supermodel, celebrity or megastar, everyone has their good times when it comes to skin," he says. “No one wakes up perfect… it takes a little work to wake up like this.” What is the job, you ask? It starts with a healthy skin lifestyle.

“Before [food], it’s about your lifestyle, including your diet,” Sir John tells us. His diet tips for clear skin include juicing and chewing on cabbages and carrots, as well as plenty of colorful vegetables, especially those that are orange or yellow in texture. "If you care about your appearance, if you want to make sure you show your best face, you also have to make sure you have the best plate in front of you."

Whether you're a supermodel, celebrity, or megastar, everyone has their good times when it comes to skin. No one wakes up perfect… it takes a bit of work to wake up perfect.

“It's all about watching what you eat and making sure you don't get dehydrated by getting your heart rate up 30 minutes a day. Go to the gym, go for a run, if you don't have time for a full workout, be sure to take a brisk walk, because if you raise your heart rate, it [helps you achieve] glowing skin. You want to make sure you can keep pumping blood. So it's long before you get to eye cream or moisturizer. I always preach these habits to my girls.”

Let's return to those "moments" that torment everyone - regardless of your celebrity status or its complete absence. Sir John says that all of his clients have one major skin problem: dark circles. “Dark circles are the first thing these girls want to get rid of,” he says. “I'm talking cabbage juice. Cabbage is great because it has vitamin K." Another tip? Eye creams and a healthy amount of H2O. "Water is beautiful because our bodies are made up of a lot of it."

Why He Wants You to Clean Your Smartphone…Right Now

When it comes to the advice he gives his clients on how best to take care of their skin - because, let's be honest, the best base for makeup is already a flawless complexion - Sir John tries to stay away from bad habits that can add germs to your beauty routine. His recommendations? Don't touch your face and, for the sake of skin care, clean your phone! “Your phone is the nastiest thing in the world," He says. “And we think: “Why should I clean the phone, because it’s only my face.” or “Why should I change my puff when it’s just my skin?” But you know, if you've had acne, if you've got very oily skin, or if you've got traffic dust on your face, it goes to your puff, which you apply to clean, fresh skin." Another no-no, ladies? Popping your pimples will probably only make things worse. So, hands off!

Why he starts every or almost every date with a facial

When he has time, Sir John starts every makeup application with a facial, and he recommends trying it at home as well. "When you're on the phone, when you're watching TV, give yourself a mini facial, it only takes 15 minutes," he says. “Wherever I go, I like to really get in there with pore tightening clay mask". Another quick skincare routine he loves to use is the glycol peel, but he warns you should always use an SPF when you're using acids on your skin. “When you work with chemicals in this way, make sure you protect your skin very well, use SPF because you are much more susceptible to sun damage. And I never want to be the cause of my girl's sunburn."

Why He (Personally) Takes Skincare Seriously

In addition to a healthy lifestyle for the skin - proper nutrition and exercise - Sir John takes products quite seriously. "I'm a skin care freak," he says. “One thing that is cool about girls is that if you guys have a pimple or dark circles under your eyes, you can hide them. I must own it. I have to own it and just pretend it's not there. So I use eye creams, take care of my skin.”

Why he thinks you need to change your moisturizer

“It's not just about knowing when to moisturize your skin. You also need to know when not to moisturize your skin and when to change your moisturizer,” he says. “Like now, everyone should change their moisturizer. You need to go from something really softening and heavier to something lighter and water based. Search formulas with hyaluronic acidwhich helps absorb moisture. This is also the time to use peels and exfoliators.”

Why does he love social media?

“You know what is so cool in this age in society? social generation? Everyone is so well informed. Even with makeup, there are no newbies anymore. Everyone is at an intermediate to advanced level, so we can jump straight into talking about tricks and what to do. Now every editor, every producer of the network, and [social media] is your network. I love to explore, there is no such thing as bad makeup because you tried. Any girl who tries will always get an A. It's my opinion. I don't like when someone doesn't even enter the game. Log into the game. Join the conversation. What's so cool about the society we have right now is having an instant focus group. Just so much inspiration. I'm just happy to be here now. Not happy to be here 15 years ago, not 20 years from now…right now.”

Why is he in awe of beauty 2.0

"I can not wait 2.0 [outlining], evolution, softer side. Because we're going to look back at it and laugh. If you think about it, it's such a huge huge contrast. I mean the polarization of opposite sides, where editorially it means nothing, and then you go to Instagram and there is "insta makeup" that you can cut with a knife. So, I feel that in the next evolution it will soften. Like now, by trial and error. It's like all these girls remind me of when you're 8 and you're playing with your mom's makeup, but when you're 15 it's a little harder, and when you're 20 (he clicks) You get it." When it comes to skincare of the future, Sir John is passionate about make-up with built-in skincare. “This is the future,” he says. "It's 2.0."
