Career Diaries: Meet Gloria Noto, founder of NOTO Botanics, a natural, multipurpose, gender-based liquid cosmetics brand.

If you're a fan of thoughtful indie brands (and who doesn't love them at the moment?), NOTO Botany should be on your radar. Glory Noto was a makeup artist for 13 years before she decided to launch her own clean, multipurpose, unisex (or, as she likes to call it, "universal-sexy") skincare and beauty brand that combines beauty and beauty. health first, not one over the other. While working as an artist, Noto saw the need for change in cosmetic industryand decided to take action. It is this passion and desire to create an efficient, safe and inclusive company that led to the creation of Noto Botanics. We spoke to Noto ahead of time to find out more, including her favorite NOTO Botanics product and what she has to say to other beginners. women entrepreneurs

Could you tell us a little about yourself?

I am the founder of NOTO Botanics, an all natural, multi-purpose and gender-based full body liquid line. I have been a make-up artist for over 13 years and also work with paint, words and sound.

What is the history of NOTO Botanics and what inspired you?

I wanted to fill the gap I saw in the beauty and health industry and fill it with inclusiveness and more diversity.

How do you think your background in makeup and fine art helped you create your own skin care brand?

It really taught me what people are looking for for themselves, playing with all skin types and tones and seeing which products work well and which ones don't. To learn, you need to work in real time with real people. I consider my work as a make-up artist a real school of life.

Since you have such a big hand in the brainstorming and creation phase of your products, can you explain what the process is like?

Ideas can either come from a very personal interest and need in me, a desire to explore within my own routine, or our community saying they are interested. I usually start with a concept of what I want to achieve. , then dive deep into the ingredients that embody that experience or result, and then create the story behind it.

What is the biggest problem you faced when creating a NOTO?

I would say that I have learned to stop focusing on my career as a makeup artist and move on to having my company as my full-time job - which I welcome and want, but it has definitely been a slow transition for me.

Could you tell us a little about how NOTO is paying attention to different causes and communities?

Giving back is a huge part of my NOTO business model. In a world where we talk about community, giving back and caring for the earth, I wanted to be part of something that could put all the money we could into our mouths. Also, I feel like the modern consumer is getting smarter and smarter about what they spend their dollar on. They want to be connected and aligned with what they are buying. This is another way to feel closer to us if you care about this kind of thing.

Biggest pinch me moment in your career so far?

Having the opportunity to build and support an incredible team.

Do you have a favorite NOTO Botanics product?

I have done each of the personal interests and needs, so each of them is very important to me. I can't live a day without mine Deep Serum, however, for sure.

Can you share some advice with other aspiring female entrepreneurs?

Have an authentic voice and vision. Don't rip off other brands just because you like what they do or think you should follow the trend. Be your own voice. And support each other.

Do you have a dream product that you hope to one day share with your audience?

Bathroom with complete NOTO installation. Complete with custom interiors and a sensory way to experience a full body product - why not?
