How to hide breakouts with makeup

Textbooks, calculators and notepads officially became a reality as the school season began. The first days in the hallways or on a college campus are always a little stressful; you might stay up late at night before wondering if you'll remember old faces or show up to class on time besides juggling homework and assignments. All this stress can throw your skin in a loop and lead to unwanted rashes. But don't panic! Below you will find a step by step guide on what you should do to hide and heal run back to school.

How to hide breakouts

Okay, here's the game plan. If your pimples start popping up less than 24 hours before class, chances are you won't be able to make them disappear by morning. It is bad news. The good news is that there are ways you can reduce the appearance of bulges and mask any redness when you're pressed for time. Here is our five step guide.

STEP 1: Use anti-acne skin care products

“The best way to deal with and control acne is to use quality products every day, even if your acne seems to be under control,” says Dr. Another Ted, Certified Dermatologist and Skincare.com Consultant. Remember that not all stains are the same. You may not have a red, juicy pimple, but you may have another blemish that falls under the acne umbrella, such as blackheads or whiteheads. "To control inflammation, it's best to use concentrated acne products," says Dr. Lane. "Look for ingredients like alpha or beta hydroxy acids or benzoyl peroxide."

Light serums designed to fight acne can also help. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Acne Serum Contains 2% salicylic acid to target existing pimples and prevent new breakouts by thoroughly exfoliating the skin.

Glycolic acid is the main ingredient IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Glycolic Acid Serum is another anti-acne skincare ingredient that helps shrink pores and smooth skin.

STEP 2: Neutralize redness with color corrector

Now that you've prepped your skin, it's time to use the color corrector. If you're dealing with a red pimple, a color corrector can help neutralize its appearance. Simply apply a small amount to the pimple and then apply foundation or concealer to match your skin tone.

STEP 3: Apply Foundation

After applying color corrector, apply an oil-free foundation. Try L'Oréal Paris Infallible Fresh Wear 24 Hour Foundation. This natural, medium coverage liquid foundation comes in a wide range of shades and is best suited for normal to oily skin types. It is also lightweight and sweat resistant.

STEP 4: Apply concealer

The foundation will make the skin tone more even and matte, but additional strengthening may be required in problem areas. This is where concealer comes to the rescue. Lancôme Teint Idole Camouflage Concealer- Available in 18 natural shades - Conceals imperfections with a weightless, comfortable feel that's never sticky. Hide it in your purse to touch up your makeup between sessions. STEP 5: Put everything back in place

The final step is to lock in all your hard work in place. Urban Decay overnight hold spray this is not a problem because it lasts 16 hours, which prevents unwanted shine.
