How To: Get Groovy With Negative Space Nail Art

Besides decorating and baking every sweet treat we can think of, one of our favorite ways to get into the holiday spirit is to update our everyday look with a little holiday flair. From darkening your hair color to bright cranberry lipstick and testing out the hottest nail polishes this season, we can't get enough! This holiday season, our eyes are on all things metallic - think gold, silver and copper! The 2016 nail polish collection, we indulged in a quick manicure at the office and created a fun, easy nail art tutorial using gold palladium polish and some stationery - why not?

Here's what you'll need to recreate the look of your home:

SUPPLY:

● Essie's First Base

● Essie's Getting Groovy Nail Polish

● Essie's Gel Setter Top Coat

● Invisible tape or painter's masking tape

What are you going to do:

  1. Apply Essie's First Base to clean, dry nails and let dry.
  2. Apply two coats of Essie's Getting Groovy, except for the ring fingers.
  3. Cut off a small piece of tape and stick it diagonally across the nail bed of your ring finger. Make sure the edges are completely flush with the nail before moving on to the fourth step.
  4. Gently apply one coat of Essie's Getting Groovy polish (or spice it up and use glitter polish instead!) to one side of the taped nail.
  5. Carefully peel off the invisible tape and let the nail dry before moving on to the sixth step.
  6. Finish off your holiday manicure with a single coat of Essie's Gel Setter Top Coat.
