This clay mask may just be the answer to my summer breakouts.

Whenever the seasons changemy skin always takes it as an opportunity to freak out. My once smooth skin is suddenly getting texture. To combat what I have called "the struggle", my first line of defense is a good cleanser and clay mask which help clear my pores. That's what led me to Baxter of California Clay Maskwhich I received from the brand for review. This deep cleansing clay mask is formulated with kaolin and bentonite clay to help remove dirt and oil from the surface of the skin. it's the same based on calendula extract, aloe leaf juice and witch hazel soothe and condition. Then, of course, there's lactic acid (the AHA or Alpha Hydroxy Acid as the name suggests) in the formula, which helps to gently exfoliate as well as even out the skin tone. I used to be afraid of acids (I know it's stupid as a beauty editor), but I've since learned that they have some serious exfoliating properties, and some of them are good for keeping the complexion clear.

To apply, I smoothed out a generous amount and let the mask work. It was comfortable to apply and after a few minutes there was a slight tingling sensation that made me feel like it was penetrating deep into my pores. I waited the recommended ten minutes before wiping it off (I took a few selfies to pass the time) and noticed that my complexion was a bit more radiant and texture issues were less noticeable. Obviously, using the mask once won't completely rid my skin of the dangers of changeable weather, but applying this mask is definitely a start.
