WHAT IS GRAPE OIL?

Grape seed oil is obtained from:grape. In particular, it is a by-product of the winemaking process, rich in phenolic compounds, fatty acids and vitamins. According to published studies from the National Center for Biotechnology Information, grape seed oil has a number of beneficial properties that make it a useful ingredient in both medicine, cosmetics and cooking.

BENEFITS OF GRAPE OIL

The benefits of grape seed oil are numerous, but we'll take a closer look at three of them below.

Benefit #1: Prevent clogged pores

According to board certified dermatologist and Skincare.com consultant Dr. Dandy Engelman, one of the most ideal candidates for grape seed oil is those with breakout-prone skin. “Grape seed oil is great for people with acne-prone skin,” says Dr. Engelman. Specifically, Dr. Engelman tells us that grape seed oil is high in linoleic acid, which can help reduce clogged pores.

Benefit #2: Skin Hydration

As we mentioned, grape seed oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins, so it's no surprise that this ingredient is often found in a number of moisturizers. What's more, when we asked Dr. Engelman for recommendations on how to incorporate grape seed oil into your daily skincare routine, she suggested using it as a cleansing oil or moisturizer.

Benefit #3: Slow down the aging process

Vitamin E contributes to the beneficial effects of grape seed oil due to its high antioxidant activity, according to the NCBI. In case you didn't already know, antioxidants play a critical role in the skin, helping to protect it from the damage that can cause visible signs of aging.
