10 commandments for fighting aging

We are all in a race against time. Our common goal? To achieve younger looking skin. Fortunately, this is not an impossible feat. Below are ten anti-aging skincare tips (in no particular order of importance) that can help reduce the signs of skin aging.

1. APPLY SUN CREAM EVERY DAY

You've heard it before and we'll do it again never skip applying sunscreen. The sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays, present in three main types: UVA, UVB, and UVC, are the main culprits for sun damage to the skin, which can show up as age spots, discoloration, wrinkles, or more serious disorders like cancer. According to American Cancer Society, UV-A and UV-B rays are the most destructive of the group; UVA rays are associated with fine lines and wrinkles and UVB rays cause sunburn and are associated with most skin cancers. Therefore, daily use of sunscreen and frequent reapplying, whether in rain or sun, is essential to protect the skin.

2. USE REJUVENATION PRODUCTS

We cannot turn back time and make ourselves look younger, but there are steps we can take to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and age spots and prevent the formation of new ones. Serum Vitamin C can help improve the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and loss of firmness. Try SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic for visible anti-aging benefits and a brighter complexion. Using retinol — a clinically proven ingredient to help improve the look of aging skin — at night also helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles. We like SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0

3. MOISTURE

In accordance with Mayo ClinicDry skin can lead to premature appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Moisturizers cannot prevent wrinkles, but they can keep skin moisturized and less prone to dryness. Choose daytime moisturizer with built-in broad spectrum sunscreen- you know, to protect against those UV rays that we will not shut up - like Garnier Clearly Brighter Anti Sun Damage Daily Moisturizer. It is formulated with an antioxidant complex of Vitamins C, E and LHA to help reduce the appearance of dark spots, age spots and discoloration, as well as improve skin texture and reduce wrinkles for radiant, youthful looking skin.

Helpful Tip: It's best to moisturize your skin immediately after a shower while it's still damp to retain moisture.

4. STOP SMOKING

If you're having trouble quitting your smoking habit, read on to find motivation. According to Mayo Clinic, "smoking can accelerate the normal aging process of the skin and contribute to the formation of wrinkles." These wrinkles are not just limited to your face. An increase in wrinkles and skin lesions on other parts of the body is also associated with smoking.

5. DON'T CRUSH YOUR SKIN

If you break loose and start picking at your pimples, you run the risk of leaving marks and marks. color change on your face. These spots may deprive you of a clear complexion and make your skin less radiant and youthful. In addition, the hands can carry dirt, oil, and bacteria to the face, leading to a vicious cycle of persistent breakouts. No thanks!

6. AVOID REPEATED FACES

Constantly squinting and smiling, you can lead to fine lines and wrinkles. According to the Mayo Clinic, as we age, skin loses its flexibility, making it harder to smooth out lines and wrinkles. We don't advise you to boycott a smile, but if you have a habit of constantly moving your facial muscles - for example, furrowing your eyebrows or lifting your forehead muscles - try to reduce it whenever possible.

7. DRINK WATER

We keep our skin hydrated from the outside with moisturizers and creams, and it's important to hydrate from the inside as well. Skip sugary drinks and opt for water to stay hydrated throughout the day.

8. PERFORM BEAUTY

A good night's sleep is important for skin health. (After all, this is called the dream of beauty). Sleep deprivation can speed up the aging process as damaged surface cells are repaired during deep sleep. Also, if you constantly wake up with puffy bags and dark circles under your eyes due to lack of sleep, your wrinkles may become more visible. Make sure you get the recommended number of hours each night and don't fall prey to bad sleep habits.

9. Eat right

Maintaining a healthy diet of colorful fruits and vegetables is good not only for your waistline, but also for your skin. Include antioxidant-rich foods and nutrients in your diet and stay away from refined sugar and alcohol.
