1. What is monogamy?

The word monogamy comes from two ancient Greek words: monos - one and gamos - marriage. It has already been used in ancient times, it is the most popular form of marriage in the worldespecially in the Christian religion and in orthodox religious factions such as the Amish and Mormons.

Monogamy has several meanings. It is associated primarily with marriage, i.e. the union of two people bound by an official marriage vow. By formally entering into a relationship, two people are bound by an exclusive legal, spiritual, emotional, social, biological, and sexual relationship.

Another meaning of the word "monogamy" is a relationship between two people who are not in a formal relationship, and a relationship with only one person at a time. The opposite of monogamy is bigamy., that is, marriage with two people at the same time, and polygamy, that is, marriage with many partners at the same time.

2. Types and types of monogamy

Monogamy is divided into two types: sequential monogamy and serial monogamy. Permanent monogamy occurs when the relationship of two people is inseparable from the moment they enter into a relationship until death.

Serial monogamy, otherwise known as serial monogamy, means that one or both people in a monogamous relationship previously had other partners with whom they ended the relationship. Some believe that the serial monogamy found in cultures is a way of disguising polygamy.
