Easy Acrylic Painting Ideas

It is not easy for beginners in painting to choose the theme of the picture that they can paint. Most often, we start with topics that we like and are simply interesting. Unfortunately, in practice it may turn out that we set the bar too high for ourselves. The article is mainly dedicated to people who start their journey with acrylic painting and do not know what to paint on canvas. However, if you are an advanced person, I invite you to a short review.

What to draw when we have no ideas? Easy acrylic painting ideas!

Sunset over the water

Easy Acrylic Painting IdeasThe first idea, which is perfect for acrylic beginners, is a sunset over water. There are no complex elements here and, in my opinion, it is difficult to make a mistake. Of course, as with any painting, the rules of composition, color, perspective, etc. must be followed, but here I guarantee you that you will not be quickly disappointed.

Everyone has a different style in painting, so probably a person interested in urban planning will not want to approach this topic, but I think it's worth taking advantage of this idea, because firstly it's easy, and secondly, you don't have to sit on it for a long time . In this picture, you will learn how to draw clouds (for example, by tracing with a sponge) reflected in the water.

If the picture seems too boring for you, add a boat, trees, reeds. It's good if your image is framed in such a way that it covers the shore of the sea or lake. Don't forget to find a painting or draw from nature.

Drawing from memory for beginners and even intermediate people does not make sense here. Through observation, we learn what the reflection looks like, what color the water is, what shape the cloud is, etc.

Still life

Still life is another idea. A still life does not have to consist of several vases on a table with fancy tablecloths, a tray of fruit, a human skull, and so on. It can be three items of your choice. Here it is much easier for you, because you can design the scene yourself and draw from nature based on it. A few simple items are enough, such as a mug, a cup and saucer, bread, an apple blossom, or a vase.

You can even find non-standard items like a kerosene lamp or a coffee grinder. It is worth visiting the attic or the place where old things are stored - you can always find something interesting there. Remember to clean up the composition only after the painting is finished. Any object touched can cause paint problems. And light is important too. In the morning the lighting is different from the daylight. Try to take care of these details.

Fruits or vegetables

Easy Acrylic Painting Ideas

Another fairly popular and easy to draw idea is fruits or vegetables. Support for smaller formats works well here. Unless you care about widescreen images.

Cool images with individual fruits like sliced avocado or sliced watermelon. Apples are also a great example of a painting. You can hang such paintings in your kitchen, so if you have space for a painting, I strongly recommend that you paint this item.

abstraction

The fourth idea that I recommend to more demanding people is abstraction. I very rarely paint abstract paintings, because they are not my favorite, but such a springboard will surely come in handy for every artist. And here you have more bragging rights because you can even draw from memory. This will also be a test of your drawing skills.

You will check if you can really draw without watching the object. A few years ago I painted a painting that was nautical but added some abstract color to it. And while it's not a perfect picture, and many critics might pounce on it, I really enjoy going back to it and looking at the style and technique I used back then.

reproductions

Easy Acrylic Painting IdeasThe last idea may require some skill and time. We are talking about recreating paintings by famous artists. If you like a picture and think you can draw it, you can easily recreate it the best way you can. This is an interesting way to look at the technique used by famous artists. With the help of the original painting, you can also see how the painters combined the colors in the painting. Was the color scheme monochrome or polychromatic? What is the perspective and composition of the image?

It is worth knowing and looking at the most popular paintings that have influenced Polish or world art. I was painting a picture Sunflowers Van Gogh and I must admit it was a very pleasant experience. I did not expect such an effect. I thought it was a high bar and that I couldn't do it. Worth a try. And although the picture cannot be painted in a day, or in three days, or even in three weeks, it is still worth waiting for the final effect and being patient.

I would like to add that if you are thinking about recreating any image, remember that the preview image should be of the best quality. If you don't have a printer, or if you have a printer that won't print a certain color or smears pixels, it's best to print the template at a print shop. If you don't notice the details, you won't be able to recreate them on canvas.

A simple painting for painting with acrylic paints.

My experience with acrylic paints shows that the longer we paint, the better the effect of the painting. There is such a thing as eye fatigue – there are times when we can no longer look at the picture and we would most like to finish it today, but it turns out that we still have a long way to go. As with any job, be patient and work slowly towards your goal.
