How to draw a bullfinch with gouache paints
Drawing lesson, how to draw a bullfinch with gouache paints on a rowan branch in the snow and falling snow. The drawing is very beautiful and not complicated. The lesson contains a detailed description with pictures - drawings of each stage of drawing a bullfinch. You will need gouache, paper and a brush. It is advisable to use two brushes: one for drawing details, the usual one you have, and the second for the background, it should be larger than the first. The bullfinch sits on a snowy branch on which the mountain ash grows. The mountain ash is covered in snow.
1.First of all, we will make the background. To do this, we will first create a solid background tone of a bluish-gray-faded color.
2. From the middle of the sheet, add strokes of white paint.
3. Blend it to a uniform color with a barely noticeable transition. Bottom line: we got a gradient background that goes from a darker color at the top to a lighter one at the bottom of the sheet. Let the paint dry.
4. After the gouache dries, we proceed to draw further. Try to draw the same location of the branch on which the bullfinch will sit.
5. Next, draw an oval with a pencil and divide it in half diagonally. Paint the lower part of the bird and the neck red. And show the head of the bullfinch in black, having previously outlined it with a pencil.
6. With a lighter shade than the background, draw the top of the wings.
7. Increase the visibility of the wing feathers with white. We finish the beak with black gouache.
8. Draw the bottom of the wings and tail in black.
9. Draw the legs in brown. Then with white paint we form the outlines of the beak so that the upper and lower parts of the beak are visible, and a strip of black remains between them.
10. On top of the head, apply a lighter tone than the head itself, draw the eye with a white dot. Under the lower beak, we still make it lighter (see how this bullfinch drawing differs from the previous one). White color shows the direction of the wings and tail.
11. Add darker paint under the head, under the tail and on the chest. Then, with white gouache, we show the feathers on the body and under the tail quite a bit.
12. Draw additional tree branches and start drawing rowan.
13. Clusters of mountain ash are drawn as separate berries in circles, just one berry overlaps the other. And from such a composition, bunches of mountain ash are obtained.
14. From above, along the contour of the mountain ash and branches, draw snow with white gouache.
15. On the remaining branches, we do the same. We take a brush so that it is collected at the end and pointwise draw falling snow. That's all the drawing of a bullfinch on a branch and a mountain ash in the snow is ready.
