How to draw a bullfinch on a branch
In this lesson, we will draw a card for the New Year with bullfinches, or you can simply draw this drawing on the theme of winter. So, how to draw bullfinches on a spruce branch with snow in stages with a pencil. For the lesson, take colored pencils or felt-tip pens, you can also use a simple pencil, it doesn’t matter. Let's take this postcard.
First, with very thin lines, we need to draw the location of the spruce branches.
Next, imagine how the snow lies on these branches and draw the contour of the lying snow.
Erase the inner lines and draw the bumps of snow on which the bullfinches sit and the size of the bullfinches themselves, there are three of them. Also, along the edges of the contour, the ends of the branches of the Christmas tree will be visible, and two cones hang from below.
We begin to draw the upper bullfinch, draw the head, beak and wing.
Draw the belly and tail of the upper bullfinch and move on to the second one, where we draw the head and back.
At the second bullfinch, draw a wing, tail, chest part, paint over the black area on the head and start drawing the next one - head, beak, back and wing.
Draw the second wing of the last bullfinch, tail, sternum.
Paint over the wings, tail and back of the bullfinches with dark color, and the body with red. You can add some yellow near the head and below. Now take a green pencil and draw needles on the branches. The needles are drawn as lines drawn close together and curved in the direction of growth. For cones we use brown.
We show the branches in brown, shade the cones themselves. We take a light blue pencil and shade the edges of the snow.
Take light green color, if not, then light green and make it thicker than needles, take dark brown for cones.
Now we will need dark green to give it realism, show them the shades of the branch itself, draw the lines in the same direction as usual, just lengthen them so that the needles are visible. In brown, still show the branches visible from under the needles. For buds, you can also take some reddish hue and add it. We take a purple pencil and very weakly apply additional shadows on the snow.
You can finish this, you can also draw a background and write: “Happy New Year!”. But for some reason it seems to me that it’s better without a background, but this is my opinion, yours may be completely different. All the drawing of bullfinches on spruce branches is ready.
