How to draw a Celtic cross
The Celtic cross is a cross with a circle, is a symbol of Celtic Christianity, there are many options. In general, this symbol has a pagan origin, it symbolizes the sun, air, water and earth in unity. When I traveled around the Crimea in old churches (for example, the Cave Monastery in Bakhchisarai), I always saw this symbol, and could not remember where I saw it. Recently I was in the Armenian monastery in the Old Crimea (Surb Khach), and remembered. There is a huge cross carved from stone with patterns inside. Exactly! Celtic. I rummaged through the Internet, found a photo, the quality is not very good, the cross is at the entrance to the monastery. By the way, the entrance to the monastery is free. We will draw a simplified version of the cross.
Step 1. Draw a circle and two parallel lines. Then we draw two arcuate curves, look at the picture.
Step 2. Draw the same curves, only vertically.
Step 3. Erase the parallel auxiliary lines and the middle of the cross.
Step 4. Draw as shown in the picture.
Step 5. Draw a pattern with a thin line, then we will erase it.
Step 6. Draw part of the pattern.
Step 7. Draw the second part of the pattern.
Step 8. Those parts that are marked with red dashes are erased.
Step 9. Draw the border on the side of the lines. My cross turned out to be crooked, so the line from one side is on the other side.
Step 10. We perform the same actions with other parts of the cross.
Step 11. Erase the circle lines between ... I don't know how to say, you get the idea, look at the picture. We paint the cross.
