I'm making a sketch. First, I outline the position with simple lines, then I begin to draw. I try to mark all the transitions from one color to another, but I don’t draw individual strands on the ear yet.

Next, I work on the forehead a little. First I outline the general direction of the wool 2H, then HB I add darker hairs. In the darkest places, I re-pass 5V.

I simply shade the black area in the nostril thickly, while working on the nose itself with arcuate and spiral strokes to show the leather texture. I shade the light part of the nose with HB. I push through the individual antennae on the muzzle with a knitting needle, so as not to shade them later.

How to draw a greyhound dogI finish my mouth. I use 9V and 5V. I outline the edges near the teeth with HB to be clearer. I shade my own teeth afterwards with HB. With a 2H pencil, I lightly outline the direction of the hair on the muzzle.

I try to draw in such a way that individual strokes are not visible. On the tongue, I add a little rough texture in a circular motion. Then I start 5B to draw the lower jaw, trying not to paint over the light hairs. 2H I add light hairs along the edge of the chin.

Somewhere I add 2V. With a 2H pencil I outline the direction of the hair on the cheek, not paying attention to the length of the hair. I draw the rest of the lips HB and 2B. On the illuminated part of it, I put jerky strokes to show the folds and shiny texture.

But I will pick up the final tone later - now the main thing is to designate the hairs and some strands. How to draw a greyhound dogFinished the cheek. I used pencils 2B, HB, 5B. First, I pick up the tone of HB, then I finally strengthen it with darker pencils. I carefully monitor the direction and length of the coat. Please note that in order to show uneven brindle coloration, I put separate dark strokes on a light background - this is especially noticeable at the corner of the mouth.

How to draw a greyhound dogI start working out from the darkest area - the edge of the ear, visible behind the strands. I work on it with a 9B pencil to deepen the contrast. 2B and 5B I begin to draw hairs on the upper edge of the ear. I carefully go around the edge of the light strands, I will add volume to them later with harder pencils.

How to draw a greyhound dogLittle by little I work out the hair on the ear. First, I designate each strand along the contour, then I add volume to it. In case it turns out too dark, I correct the tone with a nag (eraser).

How to draw a greyhound dogI work further on the dark part of the neck. I pass HB along it with long curved strokes, in some places I add 2B.

How to draw a greyhound dogI continue the neck. I outline individual strands, add a little tone.
