Acrylic paints van Bleiswijck by ACTION - test and opinions

For lovers of acrylic painting, I have prepared a review of ACTION acrylic paints. Van Bleiswijck acrylic paints are sold separately in tubes and sets. They are not expensive and are very popular. Does the price match the quality?

Acrylic paints Van Blaiswijk You can find them in almost every ACTION store. Acrylic paints, sold separately in tubes, have a capacity of 250 ml of paint, but we can also choose a set. There is less capacity, but a full range of colors. It is also worth adding that the ACTION range includes acrylic paints in larger containers, i.e. with even more capacity. And as you probably already know, in acrylic painting we always need white.

As for the label on the tube, at first glance you can say that they are intended for artists. The graphics of the brushes tell us this, but I lack information about the properties of this paint. Who are they for, what surface can they be painted on, what kind of coating do they have, etc. On the back there is a label on which the manufacturer informs us that the paints are water-resistant after drying, and the acrylic lacquer provides optimal protection from the outside.

I would say that paints are more for amateurs. So for those who like to draw on wood, plywood, paper, plastic, cardboard, etc. They are so versatile.

The price of acrylic paints from ACTION

The cost of one tube is PLN 8,19 in the Action store. I will add that I bought acrylic some time ago, so the price could change. To date, such paints on Allegro cost more than PLN 12. Each color is numbered and the name of the color appears. This is very useful, especially for people who want to develop in painting and learn the names of different shades.

As for practicality, after applying paint to the palette, I noticed that it is quite rare. It even spilled onto the palette by itself, so I couldn't control it. I thought to myself that maybe it would be good for other techniques like decoupage or this is where the filling technique comes in handy. Thick consistency, liquid acrylic paint.

Therefore, Van Bleiswijck acrylic paints can be classified as lower quality shelves. I would write that working with them is worse than with paints like MADISI comparable in price.

I would recommend using less water for these paints because they are so runny that we would have to build up multiple coats to cover the entire canvas. And if possible, then these paints should not be mixed with water at all.

The consistency is so smooth that it spreads easily over the canvas. Also, using water on acrylic paints can damage their properties. If you like technology baili.e. apply the paint thickly, I think van Blaisik would have done it. They dry quickly and are quite effective because 250 ml for more than PLN 8 is a really cheap product.

Well, there is no need to demand that cheap paints be of high quality, but unfortunately they do not win in this price category. They can be used, for example, to mix other paints or to practice acrylic painting.

I prepared a 30x30 cm cotton canvas. The theme of my painting will be abstraction, I have seen graphics in this style several times, so I decided to be inspired by adding a little of my own. So let's treat this image as an exercise, not a tutorial.

The colors are intense, but the opacity is very weak. After applying and drying the paint, the surface is matte. Here it is worth using a final varnish to protect the image and add brightness, depth and gloss effect to it at the same time.

I honestly admit that I will use this type of paint if I run out of colors or the paint serves as an exercise tool. I think that I will not invest in it a second time, because I know that there are other paints from a similar price range with better hiding power and better consistency.

Van Bleiswicjk can be a great help for acrylic painting exercises, for hobbyists or people who want to draw something for themselves, an amateur. Acrylic paints are effective, so I don't think we're taking much of a risk. I emphasize that each artist has his own requirements. So let's try to make a safe purchase and check, for example, only one color. We do not need to buy a whole set or many tubes. Perhaps you will like ACTION acrylic paints!
