Tattoo design

Many people who don't have a tattoo yet are wondering what to do if they don't have a tattoo. I will try to describe the process of creating a tattoo design and define basic terms such as flash, free-hand or original design.

The Internet is the source of all problems.

You have to start with what you can't do. First of all, it is forbidden to copy tattoos that you find on the Internet.

These tattoos are copyrighted. A person who copies such a work for a fee violates the law and risks the consequences (often financial) that result from it. Some people who write to the studio or directly to artists greet with words. “Hi, I have a tattoo design, what is the price,” then attaches a photo of the tattoo from the Internet and we have a problem first. A tattoo from a photo is not a design! The studio might respond to such a message by estimating how much a tattoo would cost in the same location, size, and style as the example. It is important to note that this will not be a quote for the service of copying this tattoo, but will be the creation of another one inspired by our photo.

Need a project

We have a vision of how to decorate your body, but how to get a design out of it.

First, we must define:

1. what should be shown in the project (for example, a flying pig with horns);

2.size (for example, width 10-15 cm);

3. style of work (eg realistic, sketchy, neo-traditional);

4. Decide if the tattoo will be in color or shades of gray.

Having already established the above priorities, we begin to look for an artist who will do the work that corresponds to our recommendations. We search either on our own, for example, Instagram / Facebook, then contact the artist or professional studio. If we write to the studio, she will assign us a suitable artist or send us to another studio with a stylist on the team. Remember, a tattoo is for life, it needs to be done perfectly, not just mediocre. If you're expecting something that you won't be ashamed of 10 years from now, you need to find someone who specializes in a particular tattoo style instead of doing your best.

When we find the right artist.

We are considering available free templates, the so-called FLASH, it may turn out that our little pink pig with horns is waiting for us!

However, if the designs available do not contain what we need, we must describe our idea to the artist. Our tattoo artist will create a design for us.

Artists work in different ways and it often depends on the style.

Photo manipulation

Some projects are based on photographs (for example, realism). The artist searches for suitable reference photographs or takes them himself and then processes them in graphics programs such as Photoshop.

Drawing

If you are looking for work in a style other than realism, most often you will find an artist who draws or paints a project himself from scratch. He creates a project using traditional tools like pencil, watercolor, or more modern tools like graphic tablets.

Free hand

The third design option is by hand. You come to a session and the artist carries out the project directly on your body, for example, using colored markers.

Law

Copyright and what we need it for. Creation of individual works for each client is very important for artists as well. This allows them to develop. Do what they like, and in return the client receives a unique tattoo that will accompany him until the last days. Also remember that if you want a tattoo with the right workmanship, no professional would risk their good opinion by stealing someone else's tattoo design.
