This topic is causing a real debate in England. There was a petition last week to ban earrings for young children. According to some women, this would mean mutilating the child unnecessarily.

Many little girls at the age of several months go with their mothers to jewelry stores to get their ears pierced. Tradition in some families and cultures, or simple flirtation that annoys thousands of people. Indeed, in England, a bad noise literally erupted around the pierced ears of children. Not wanting to see little girls with these jewelry, she decided to contact the Ministry of Children's Affairs.
