If you'd like to know more about the quality of our pose jewelry, we'll tell you about it in this article with a small overview of some of our pose jewelry (also available in gold) here. To see all our jewelry, go to the store 🙂

How important is ear piercing?

Ear piercing has been around for millennia and is timeless. Ear piercing is primarily a decorative function in all cultures, although in some it is a symbol of adulthood. But above all, you must give it the meaning you want 😉

For us, this is primarily body art, a way to decorate your beautiful body ♥. It can also be a way to declare yourself, distinguish yourself from others, or, conversely, show your belonging to a group. The reasons for ear piercing (or elsewhere) are up to you!

What are the types of ear piercings?

There are over ten possible ear piercings!

We gave you a small summary in pictures (it's easier) of all possible ear piercings for MBA - My Body Art.

Piercing praise

The most famous and often the first (you need to start somewhere). v lobe piercing is the oldest, most common (as well as the most culturally recognized) body piercing. It is found in the fleshy part of the lower part of the ear. On average, you can get 3 piercings per earlobe!

Piercing transverse lobe, its little-known relative, is located on the same fleshy part of the ear, except that it crosses the lobe lengthwise, vertically or horizontally (as desired and / or according to your morphology).

Helix and anti-helix piercing

You are taking it more and more (we love that too): helix piercing... It sits on the cartilage of the outer edge (top side) of your ear, on the small edge that surrounds your ear. You can make several under each other and get a beautiful assortment of jewelry.

Less common, but just as beautiful: anti-coil piercing... It is located opposite the helix, on the cartilage of the inner edge of the ear. You can also combine several (for example, 3) for even more originality!

Tragus piercing and tragus antibodies

A tragus piercing is ideal if you need an inconspicuous piercing. It sits on a small, rounded or triangular section of cartilage that protects the ear canal.

Piercing tragus located directly in front of the tragus, on the cartilaginous part just above the lobe.

Shell piercing

We see it more and more often with a ring (it is so beautiful)! [NB: you will not be able to install the ring directly on the installation because it does not allow for good healing.] piercing shell is located on the cartilage in front of the ear canal.

Flat piercing

Le piercing flat, is located on the cartilage of the flat part of the ear, next to the spiral. An ideal place to place original decorations (a bit like our moon in the photo just above). 😉

Piercing ride

It has the perfect place to put a durable item (like a beautiful sparkling ring ♥): piercing Daith... It is located in the cartilage above the ear canal.

Punching rook

Next to the antispiral, on the cartilaginous fold, is piercing smoke.

Industrial piercing

Piercing industrial it is actually a double piercing: it crosses the anti-helix and the helix with a single band. Like all piercings (but this is even more relevant for this), not everyone can do this, it will depend on the morphology of your ear (check with our specialists in the store).

You can see all the piercings we do here. And if you need more information on other piercings: here we are talking about septum piercing and then about nipple piercing :)

How much does ear piercing cost?

Ear piercing costs vary. It depends on the area of the puncture and the selected gem.

We give you a small overview of our piercing prices.

  • Lobe puncture from 40 €;
  • from 50 € for a cartilage puncture;
  • and for industrial piercing from 75 €;

And if you would like to know more detailed piercing prices, do not hesitate to ask us right here.

Does your ear piercing hurt?

The question often arises: what is the degree of pain when piercing the ear?

As you would expect, piercing the fleshy part of the lobe is less painful than piercing the harder part of the cartilage.

Before getting pierced, you need to prepare for it, this is not very pleasant and not the best time for this. But rest assured, nothing irresistible (and worth it ♥)! I think piercing happens very quickly! The key to pain relief during piercings lies in breathing: inhale and exhale deeply.

During the act of piercing, you will feel a strong infringement for 2 seconds. It heats up and stretches a little after piercing: it's time for the piercing to take its place!

There is no consensus about the feeling of pain while piercing. Not everyone has the same sensitivity and tolerance to pain (yes!).

Can all ears be pierced?

Unfortunately, no: it is necessary to adapt to the morphology of each of them. A piercing that is ill-fitting to the shape of the ear will not heal well and can lead to complications.

Ear piercing done in MBA - My Body Art

Our piercing experts will advise you on whether or not piercings can be done (just come and have a look at the store!). If you have a general ear jewelry project, they will be happy to help you and advise you on the location of your piercing and matching jewelry!

Can multiple piercings be done at the same time?

Yes ! But it all depends on what ... 😉

Depending on the type of piercing you want to get, we can advise you on the number of piercings you can get on the same day. This will depend on their area. The goal is not to overwhelm your body so that the piercing will heal smoothly. For example, for cartilage, we recommend settling for 2-3 piercings at a time and getting them done on the same ear. If you want to pierce the cartilage in each ear, it is recommended to start with one ear and then, after the first side has healed, move on to the second ear. Why ? Everything is very simple to sleep peacefully. In fact, you should avoid sleeping on your new piercing while it heals as this can slow down healing and / or stray from it.

Take your time, a well-done and well-healing piercing is better than many piercings trying to get their place on your body! (And we are glad that you will come back to us ♥).

What is the best time to get your ear pierced?

No, now is the time to get your ears pierced. Good healing of your piercing depends primarily on caring for it 😉 Therefore, it is important to follow the care that will be recommended for you on the day of your arrival and which is briefly described in our care guide.

Often in the summer we wonder if it is worth training during this period. To learn how to properly care for your piercing in the summer, click here.

What is the healing time for an ear piercing depending on the different piercing sites?

The healing time of ear piercings varies depending on the area and each individual: there really is no one size fits all rule. Here are some indicative ranges to give you an idea:

  • A lobe piercing requires a minimum of 3 months to heal.
  • To puncture the cartilage (spiral, shell, tragus, daita, etc.), at least 4-6 months of healing is required.

But do not forget to check the healing of your piercing with our specialists before changing your jewelry. Because even if you think it has healed, you should not be fooled by looks: seek professional advice!

Precisely because a piercing takes a certain amount of time (which can sometimes seem like a long time) to heal, we have grouped together a wide range of titanium jewelry (classic and gold)! You can directly choose the decoration you really like ♥.

A small review of our posture jewelry (not exhaustive) here (and a large review in the store) 😉

In this article, we will explain all the steps you need to take to heal your piercing.

When can I think about changing the jewelry for the pose?

You will only be able to change your posture with jewelry (or sometimes called medical jewelry) when your piercing is completely healed. Our teams monitor the healing of your piercing. Do not change them until the green light turns on!

Indeed, changing jewelry too early can lead to complications. Therefore, it is better to be patient (everything in advance). 🙂

When you can change jewelry, pay attention to the jewelry you put on your body. Again, poor quality jewelry can lead to complications.

So beware of cheap jewelry! It is best to always go to a professional piercing.

At MBA - My Body Art, all of our posing jewelry is made of titanium, and our in-store replacement jewelry is titanium or stainless steel, therefore hypoallergenic ♥
