Planning for your next piercing after the COVID-19 pandemic

While our piercing studios are currently closed to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, our team has been hard at work. Whether we're curating ear projects online or answering your questions via email and PM, it's been a good time to connect digitally one-on-one with our clients and plan for the future!

Just like we've been busy packing your online orders and making an appointment, when we get back is the perfect time for you to plan your next piercing! Below, we'll look at a few steps to take when looking for inspiration for jewelry, piercings, and how to make an appointment when we reopen our doors!

Can we create an ear care plan for you?

Sometimes it can be hard to come up with an idea for a complete look! We recently started offering an online ear care service where our clients submit a photo of their ear and our staff create the complete look using the jewelry we have in our studio! This allows us to give you recommendations based on your personal anatomy, taste and budget from the comfort of your couch! Click here to book an online ear care appointment.

What style of jewelry suits you?

Personal style is just that, personal. And your jewelry should reflect this! In our online store, we offer a wide range of metals, gems, designs and textures when it comes to body jewelry. When shopping for new body jewelry, it's important to keep your lifestyle in mind as well! For example, if you prefer a bit of glamour, maybe real diamonds and 14 carat gold would be more suitable for you. For those who prefer a more minimalist look, gold balls, gold bars, and seam rings might be your best bet!

Visit our Instagram page and the Shop tab on our website for jewelry inspiration.

What type of piercing is right for you?

Piercing placement is another important part of the planning process. Deciding ahead of time where you want your new piercing will make life more convenient for both you and your piercer! Do you have a piercing that the piercer might need to know about? Do you have the correct anatomy to support the piercing you have in mind? These are all things you will need to consider.

During times when you can't meet your piercer in person - such as during the current social distancing - a photo of the area of your body you want to pierce will be a very helpful visualization for your piercer! Another thing to consider when choosing a placement is visibility. Do you want to be able to see your piercing, or do you want others to see it regularly?

Look for ideas on social networks

Now that you know the tattoo style and location, it's time to start looking for ideas. Pierced's Instagram and Pinterest pages are great places to start your hunt. Both will provide you with a wide range of decorations and accommodation options. You can also visit some of our piercing pages for additional images for inspiration!

Contact us to make an appointment

Just because our studios are currently closed doesn't mean we don't want to hear about your new piercing ideas! Our employees are still answering emails and ordering customers from June 1st. Use the form on our website to tell us about your piercing idea and we can start the process. We look forward to working with you as soon as we can!

Do you have the necessary products after care?

It's never too early to prepare and learn about proper piercing care practices. Our online store offers all the same piercing care products that we sell in our stores. While you're waiting for your appointment, this is a great idea and time to make sure you're all set when you get home. Our care products are delivered the next business day. Some, like PurKlenz, can even be used as a daily antimicrobial soap for hands or any part of the body that may be in contact with the outside world.
