Feast of the guardian angel

Each of us has

Each of us has it. And it does not matter what religion he professes and whether he believes in the existence of God at all. Like St. Thomas Aquinas: "The guardian angel guards us from the cradle to the grave and never leaves his service."

In angelology - the science of the origin of angels - there are many examples of heaven helping in desperate situations. The winged guard, summoned by a pleading prayer, gives advice and instructions on how to proceed. Heals or saves in an emergency from an accident. It helps to find a job, and it also happens that, by a strange coincidence, it can conjure money. Restores lost love. She comforts the lonely. Leads on a journey. And always, always take care of the children. He really watches over our safety so that we do not do stupid things that we will be ashamed of.

His vigilance also includes protection from attacks by others when they wish to harm us. The guardian angel immediately summons the archangel Michael and his entire army. The archangel is so strong that he can quickly deal with his opponent. Conviction in the help of a divine messenger becomes for us, as it were, a medicine for our sick soul. St. Lidvina: “If the sick felt the presence of the Guardian Angel, it would bring them great relief. No doctor, no nurse, no friend has angelic power.” St. Francis. Being a friend of angels, she often fell into an ecstasy of happiness: "My friends are angels, and my joy from communicating with them knows no bounds."

Often the support of the Guardian Angel can be found in the prayer itself, and daily communication with the angel allows you to establish the most intimate and tender conversation with him. The Feast of the Guardian Angel falls on October 2. We can celebrate them in a unique way. Three days before the holiday, say your favorite prayers to a familiar angel. On Christmas Eve, buy three lilies and place them on a table covered with a white tablecloth. On the very day of the holiday, light a new white candle and look at the image of the angel, whom you consider your guardian. Trust the angel by telling him about the worries of your life with confidence. Light the incense and, like the ancient priests, set the table three times. Then sit comfortably and, with faith in his strength, convey to him all your requests.

You know that…

On September 29, we celebrate the feast of the three archangels: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. These days, services and solemn masses with indulgences are held in the Catholic Church.

Prayer to the Guardian Angel

Holy Guardian Angel, here I am (state your name), I commit myself completely to You and trust that You will walk my paths and show me the true direction. Cover me with your wings from the visible and invisible forces of evil and warn me in due time. I believe that you will block my way if someone suffers because of me and his tears become my burden. Enlighten me with Your wisdom, strengthen and comfort me in weakness. And I will listen to your voice and I will carry your sweet name in my heart.

Amen.
