Discover the power of Our Lady of Herbs Bouquet.

Flowers and herbs collected in a bouquet and consecrated on August 15 have great power! The composition should consist of specific plants that protect against diseases and spells. Create your own unique bouquet and you will fall in love with its fragrance and experience its magic.

According to ancient custom, the bouquet should contain the following plants: wormwood (known as the mother of herbs), myrtle, tansy, hyssop, rue, St. John's wort, clover, periwinkle, poppy, mullein flower. For the bouquet to gain strength, it must be sacrificed August 15 is the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as the Herbal Mother of God.

 

Belief in the magical effect of these plants meant that in the past they were treated as a cure for all evil. They were supposed to protect against disease, lightning or crop failure.

Therefore, on the way back from the church, they were placed between the beds so that pests would not threaten the crops. And so that fields and gardens would not be destroyed by hail, storms and downpours, crushed herbs were sprinkled with seeds before sowing in the spring of next year.

Individual bouquets they were put behind the sacred images and kept like that all year round. When someone from the household or an animal fell ill, healing herbs were taken from the consecrated bouquet and added to healing decoctions or baths.

Cattle, released to pasture for the first time, resented them, and were also suspected of being carried away. And when a storm broke out, the holy herbs were burned over the kitchen. Because it was believed that the smoke escaping from the chimney drives away thunders.
