Don't give up on your feelings!

The heart is always young and always yearns for love. Not feeding him is the greatest sin.

I grew up in a house where cards were part of everyday life. On the day I want to talk about today, my beloved neighbor Mrs. Tusya came to Kabbalah and brought a whole plate of dumplings.

After the feast, my mother and I moved to the porch. I returned to my room. All I could hear through the window was rambling conversation.

"I'm getting flowers," said Mrs. Tusya excitedly. He fixed my vacuum cleaner.

Then my mother spoke louder:

“That his wife seems to have died of cancer?”

- Lonely. For a long time. Like me, the neighbor replied, after which there was a significant silence.

romantic story

After the guest left, I asked what was it? “A romantic story,” the parent sighed. “This is that school professor, remember, he taught you geography.

— He is 70 years old! I exclaimed in astonishment.

“And she’s 76,” her mother said calmly. Life doesn't end with retirement.

After some time Mrs. Tusya found me at home alone. Mom went to a sanatorium. The neighbor fidgeted nervously for several minutes, finally squeezed out:

“Child, give me some cards. You see... Leon proposed. I am happy, but I would like to know how it will turn out for us.

I shuffled the deck with great curiosity. And I was glad to see a good set of worms. They foreshadowed a deep feeling. Mrs Tusia breathed a sigh of relief. Suddenly she confessed to me:

“My late husband and I got along during the day…not at night. Only now, in my old age, I learned what physical love is ...

For me, a young married woman, it was a real shock. But then I realized the great truth that it's never too late for anything.

Unfortunately, in a hitherto optimistic fate, a system appeared that announced the break in relations. Catastrophe! I got scared and unfolded the cards again. The result was the same. "Evil tongues," I muttered, trying not to make her too sad. - Hostile family. However, follow your heart... Either she or we!

It's easy to say. Lady Tusi didn't have a warrior spirit. Which will soon come in handy, because the news of the upcoming marriage among the children of a rival made Tusya rummage around: - What is dad doing? yelled the little son at Mr. Leon. She only cares about the apartment! Does dad think she'll take care of dad when he gets sick? Has your father gone mad?!

It's either her or us! repeated her sister, like a character from Mniszkowna's The Leper. Everything fell out of Leon's hands. He became sadder and sadder. Walks under the stars and joint trips to the city library are over. Both were afraid to face the furious descendants of their future husband.

Is it a sin to dream of spending the autumn of life together? Rely on yourself? the despairing Mrs. Tusya bombarded her mother with questions.

But Leon's family treated the old people like half-baked teenagers, unaware of the consequences of their own actions. The siblings turned their backs on their father in solidarity. Mrs. Tusi had enough strength until her daughter forbade her father to see her grandchildren and simply threw him out the door. Leon came home with tears in his eyes.

Then Tusya packed up and took them to her cozy studio. Then each of them wept bitterly, but they no longer dared to oppose Leon's relatives.

Three years later, the professor died in a nursing home. Tusya visited him to the end. In their last conversation, he admitted that he had never regretted anything more than that he had not kept her then.

Only sadness will remain

This story reminded me when an old man in a wheelchair appeared in my office: “I think someone loved me. This man and I are not indifferent,” he said, speaking with difficulty. “The decision was made to move in together, but ... I refused. There are so many young healthy guys. If I get frustrated and leave, I will get worse.

The tarot turned out to be positive, but the old man did not seem to be reassured.

“Give yourself a chance,” I begged fervently, remembering how I once failed to convince Mrs. Tusya. - Believe me. Please don't leave. Otherwise, only longing will remain from you.
