What does Disney show us about kindred spirits?

Everyone says romance in Disney movies is unrealistic and may have created unrealistic expectations in the relationships of everyone who grew up with them. But don't we forget about the trauma and drama that their characters must go through in order to be together?

Most Disney movies end with the term "and they lived happily ever after", which is probably not true, but let's delve into the metaphor of these movies.

Every Disney princess has had to go through some sort of trauma or life-changing event in order to meet her prince or "soulmate".

Each prince also had to fight his own demons in order to be with his princess or "soulmate".

Let's take Snow White for example. Was it a coincidence that she met her "prince" while running from her stepmother who wanted to kill her?

Or Ariel from The Little Mermaid. She had to use the services of a sorceress and get away from everything she knew in order to meet her "soulmate".

The fact is that relationships with your soulmate are not easy. Not all of them are wonderful novels, usually they are difficult tests when we go through a radical change in life. They help us release and discover our inner demons in order to find peace within ourselves.

If you look at the entire Disney movie as a metaphor, there are usually certain events that need to be changed, then moments of chaos and transformation, and then, after overcoming it all, soul mates can finally be together.

Sure, Disney paints the relationship itself as a happy deathbed relationship, but in this blissful moment when the people you love finally get together after all they've been through, it probably is.

Of course, maybe "happily ever after" is a stretch, but if you go back to the metaphorical example, you will find that "happy and long" is the feeling you have after a complete change and transformation, and this is where both of you can finally see who they really are.

Relationships with your significant other aren't meant for blissful, romantic walks in the park all the time. The true nature of a soul mate is to wake you up and strip you to the bare bones to make your soul the best it can be. A soul mate has been sent to bring out all of your emotional baggage and weaknesses so you can release it and connect with who you really are, connect with your own strength.

When it comes to the different soul mates we may encounter along the way, there are three different types:

Soul Mate #1 usually a mirror. It is exactly like you and reflects everything about you. This type of soul mate is sent to help identify various personality traits and flaws that you need to work on. What frustrates you in your partner is something you also need to work on in yourself. The challenges in these types of relationships are presented to highlight your weaknesses and turn them into strengths.

Soul Mate #2 Is Your Complete Opposite yin is in your yang and is sent to help balance your energy and show you the other side of life. These types of relationships are often very explosive as they require patience, understanding, and a learning curve to accept and appreciate the differences of others. The best strategy in such a relationship is to focus on your own development in order to find harmony and peace.

Soul Mate #3 is your Twin Flame – the embodiment of “soulmates”. The theory is that your soul splits into two energies, and meeting a Twin Flame is like a reunion of the two energies. While it may sound very romantic, this relationship requires a lot of healing and spiritual growth. Twin flames often meet to serve a greater purpose. Typically, their relationship is not about individuals, but rather about working together to support a global cause.

No matter what kind of soulmate relationship you're in, the idea is always the same. Soul mates are sent to help you reconnect with your Soul, Divinity and Love. Soulmates are sent to help you become the best version of yourself so your soul can grow in consciousness.

Can your significant other be your life partner? The answer is Absolutely! But usually there are some huge lessons or hurdles to overcome first.

Going back to the Disney analogy, Snow White had to defeat her stepmother who was trying to kill her, Sleeping Beauty had to face her "fate", Cinderella had to call on the Divine to help her slip away and reach her true potential, etc. and etc. . etc.

Loving your significant other is not only a tragedy, there are certainly wonderful moments, and if you are open to work and your development, there is no reason why you cannot live happily ever after.
