Anniversary Edition of the Stars of Africa Collection

Royal Asscher has released a limited edition of its Stars of Africa jewelry line in honor of Queen Elizabeth II's year-long Diamond Jubilee.

Anniversary Edition of the Stars of Africa Collection

The "Diamond Jubilee Stars" collection is based on the same design as used in the jewelry released in 2009: sapphire glass spheres or hemispheres filled with crushed diamonds. The spheres are filled with the purest silicone, allowing the diamonds to float inside like snowflake confetti in a Christmas glass ball.

The new collection includes a ring and a necklace in 18K rose gold. The hemisphere ring contains 2,12 carats of white, blue and pink diamonds. The sphere in the necklace also contains pink, white and blue diamonds, but already at 4,91 carats. This combination of colors of stones symbolizes the national colors of the British flag.

"Diamond Jubilee Stars" are available in very limited quantities: only six sets and each item has its own individual serial number and certificate.

There are very few companies that can boast such a long and strong relationship with the British Monarchy, and Royal Asscher is one of them. It all started in 1908, when the Asher brothers from Amsterdam cut the world's largest diamond, the Cullinan. The 530-carat diamond was placed in the royal scepter just below the cross. Another stone, Cullinan II, weighing 317 carats, was set into the crown of St. Edward. Both diamonds are official representatives of the collection of jewels belonging to the British crown, and are constantly exhibited in the Tower.
