"Honest" silver appeared in the world

A major supplier has introduced the first "fairly sourced" and "fairly traded" silver in the UK in an attempt to meet ethical standards and improve the lives of people working in hazardous mines.

Poor independent miners, who represent the vast majority of the precious metal workforce, are paid more than the face value of silver.

CRED Jewelery, located in Chichester in the south of England, imported about 3 kg of "honest" silver from the Sotrami mine in Peru. For silver, the proceeds of which will be invested in social and economic projects for the miners' society, the organization paid an additional 10% premium.

Products made from this silver will cost 5% more than similar items made from silver that does not have “fair mining” and “fair trade” certificates.

Back in 2011, leading British jewelery companies launched fair gold certification as part of a growing market for ethical products from tea to travel packages. After all, many buyers want to be sure that the people who mine precious metals are getting a fair wage for their work, and also that the environment is not affected in the process of this mining.
