How to choose and buy the perfect engagement ring?

We choose an engagement ring - the one and only - the most important for our future bride. How good to choose? What mistakes should not be made and what you need to know before buying an engagement ring to make it perfect?

An engagement ring is perhaps the most important piece of jewelry for any woman. In addition to the obvious function that it performs, the ring should also be an ornament, so that wearing it is a pleasure, and not an unpleasant duty. While the look of your dream ring is obvious to ladies, men can have a real problem choosing the best one. How to choose an engagement ring to suit your future wife? We will help you avoid this. The main mistakes when choosing an engagement ring.

Choosing an engagement ring - price.

One of the most important considerations before buying is the price of the engagement ring. And the price is mainly related to the material of execution and the presence of precious stones. There is no rule that determines the minimum price that the future groom must spend on a ring for his chosen one. The ring is primarily a symbol of feeling and the moment of engagement, therefore its meaning should be mostly symbolic, and the size of the stone and the type of metal are of secondary importance. It is worth setting a budget that we can spend on buying a ring, and, given it, look for the right one.

Choose a ring - style and design.

If we know how much we can and want to spend on a ring, it remains to decide what style it should be. Here it is useful to know the taste of your partner, or at least the style that is closest to her. We must not be influenced by current trends in jewelry, which can change very quickly. Jewelry that a woman wears every day can be of great help - whether it be gold or silver, or maybe platinum, modest and delicate jewelry or richly decorated. The most expensive will be rings made of platinum and white gold, a little cheaper - from yellow gold (depending on the sample of gold), and the cheapest - from silver. The price is also determined by the weight of the ring, ie. the amount of material used.

After choosing the metal, it's time to decide on the stone for the ring. Although it is customary for an engagement ring to have a diamond, this is not a requirement at all. We can choose any other gemstone - ruby, emerald, sapphire, topaz or tanzanite. Depending on your budget and preferences. If we choose a stone, it remains to decide whether it should be one larger or several smaller. The size of gemstones is determined by carats. The smaller the stone, that is, the fewer carats it contains, the lower its price will be. Often rings combine several types and sizes of stones, which is also an interesting option when we cannot decide on one particular one.

Choose a ring - size.

Once the ring type is determined, the only thing left to do is choose the right size. Contrary to appearances, the task is not an easy one. Of course, you can borrow the ring you wear every day to check its size, but this is not always possible. Then there is a "blind" solution. The safest option is to agree with the jeweler on the rules for returning or replacing the ring in case of refusal.

Remember that any modifications, such as engraving, often make it impossible to replace an unsuitable ring later. This is a beautiful gesture, but rather risky if we are not sure of the choice. The same applies to custom-made jewelry. We will decide on them only when we are sure that the ring will fit.
