What to do if the stone fell off the jewelry?

Did the stone fall out of the ring? Or maybe you see that your engagement ring has only one cavity and the bar is missing a small diamond? What to do in this case? Try to repair it yourself or contact a jeweler?

Jewelery is a unique piece of jewelry and every woman feels special when she puts on her favorite engagement ring given to her by her fiancé. The same is with the wedding ring, which is usually worn every day - we are not all that easy with this. Jewelry should dazzle, be perfect and serve us for as long as possible, and better for the rest of our lives! However, the problem arises when when the stone falls from the ring. It pays to know what to do at this moment.

How to prevent the stone from falling off the ring?

First of all, you should pay attention to which gemstones are most often used in jewelry, especially in rings. Commonly used mineral is diamond, ruby, amethyst and sapphire. They are distinguished by their uniqueness, exclusivity and durability - all the more it would be a pity if such a precious stone fell off and disappeared.

It is even more important to make sure that regularly check the correct seating of the stone in the ringwhether it moves, whether it is crooked, whether it arouses suspicion that it is coming to an end. such periodic inspection of jewelry should take place especially when, for example, we have caught a ring on clothing and suspect that the stone setting may be bent or damaged.

What to do if the stone fell out of the ring?

Unfortunately, even in the case of the highest quality rings, they can be accidentally damaged, and then you can simply lose the stone embedded in them. Not bad when the ring was recently bought - then you can exercise the right to file a complaint. By law, every piece of jewelry is subject to a claim when:

  • not suitable for the purpose for which it is intended,
  • its properties do not match the properties that this type of product should have.
  • is incomplete or has been damaged due to defects

If a guarantee has been provided, you can use it. This is a voluntary declaration provided by the manufacturer or seller. It sets out the detailed conditions for any replacement or repair.

Glue the stone to the ring with your own hands?

When a stone falls from the ring and we are lucky that it is not lost, it is worth fixing the ring. However, do you do it yourself? Edit no!

First of all, the detailing and meticulousness of jewelry requires special tools, skill and delicacy in work. Tweezers and pliers may not be enough. Another argument is the even and correct deposition of the scale and the elimination of the reason why it fell off. Here we will have to deal with the bending of the temples in which the diamond is inserted (they can break!), and sometimes we will need glue or other adhesive that we most likely do not have. The risk of such an operation is too great and can lead to even more damage.

So what should we do if we have lost a gemstone?

The answer is simple and obvious: take your jewelry to a professional jeweler or jeweler for repair. With the help of professional tools, and most importantly, knowledge and experience, the jeweler will repair our jewelry, pick up a stone if it is lost, or replace our fallen one. We will not combine, we will not expose ourselves to even greater losses - the jewelry store will do it quickly and professionally.
