80 year old man showed the true meaning of friendship with ink

Alan Q Zhi Lun is a tattoo artist and owner of Naked Skin Tattoo in Singapore.

One day, he got a client that changed his life when a frail old man walked into his shop wanting to get a tattoo in memory of his childhood friend who had recently passed away. He wanted the following written on both of his hands: “Once it is gone, never to be seen again. Behind every ocean there is silence without a trace. You are leaving today, not knowing when we can meet again…” in Chinese characters, which sounds like this: Zhi Lun wrote about it on his Facebook page, and it won the hearts of everyone who read it!

Little did Zhi Lun know that the old man's name was Chonghao, and he was a famous and respected undertaker from Geiland Bahru, a district on the east side of Singapore. Hi however had a good dialogue with Cunhao and was kind enough to post on his page, it looks like this:

“Me: Ah, gong, a.. what do you want to do for your tattoo?

Grandfather replied… I want to make Chinese inscriptions on both hands in memory of my best friend who recently passed away… he was a very good friend of mine, so I want to do it…

So I asked Grandpa, can I have a look at what you want to get? So he handed me a sheet of paper with Chinese text written on it… and started reading….

(Shide will never meet again...) when it leaves, never meet again

(The end of the world is silent without a trace ...) Behind every ocean, it is silent without a trace ...

(When can we come back after parting today...) You're leaving today, I don't know when we can meet again...

After listening, my heart was heavy... so I decided to do this important work! I gave him pain cream and got him a tattoo.. I have no idea how good their relationship is.. but I know from his body language that this man meant a lot to him..

He told me they've been friends for 45 years... he was sad... that's why he wanted to do it... no matter how much it costs... just tattoo it for me...

So, after everything was done.. he asked me how much should I pay for this?

I said $10...with a smile

Honestly, I don’t even want to take a cent from this ... but I remember that if I don’t take at least 10 dollars, he may think that I feel sorry for him or for some other reason ... so I said that 10 dollars will be sufficient…

But he still insisted on pushing me for the money... and leaving happy... my heart was heavy so I decided to raise $10 and donate the rest.."
