Meet the Artist Artwork Archive After the crisis, when her hard drive failed, Terrill was looking for a cloud system that could safely store her files, no matter what happened to her computer. Since then, Artwork Archive has helped her organize and develop her career as a full-time artist so she can spend more time in Canada's wild backcountry and less paperwork.

Collected internationally, Terril's work captures the essence of the sea, sky and forest she encounters. Each stroke of the brush breathes new life into the already picturesque scenery of British Columbia.

HOW DID THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF YOUR COUNTRY INFLUENCE YOUR CREATIVITY?

Growing up in rural north central British Columbia, our province's stunning and diverse landscape has had a profound effect on my artistic expression. Canada has a history of excellence in landscape painting. and are the most famous of these artists.

The landscape itself calls me to walk, take pictures and draw my attitude to these elements. My country is young and has a pioneering spirit of exploration and adventure. There are large areas of wilderness in Canada that are still bushes and trees left to mountains, lakes, rivers, seas and mosquitoes. These landscapes are often occupied only by the birds and animals that live in the area. In the company of just a few people, I live and create here.

HOW DO YOU KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE INTERNATIONAL ART COMMUNITY?

I have a large and active international art community, mainly through Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus. I often participate in online events, groups or communities such as #TwitterArtExhibit, an international exhibition of original postcards. These links and interactions now span several years. Social media was my beginning and continues to be my platform in the international art community.

YOU ARE SELLING WORK IN MANY DIFFERENT PLACES AND SALES. HOW DO YOU MANAGE ALL LOGISTICS?

The Art Archive is where new paintings for release first arrive and is the most reliable source for a potential buyer to determine if a painting is still available. I can also let the viewer know in the description which brick and mortar gallery the work is currently showing. Thus, no matter where else my work is shown, the Art Archive has become the central link or default link to view my paintings. online.

My website is like a lobby where the visitor can view and buy my paintings. Artwork Archive is a theater showcasing works on a large online stage and with all the necessary features taking place behind the scenes.

HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ARTWORK ARCHIVE AND WHY DID YOU JOIN? BEFORE USING ARTWORK ARCHIVE HOW DID YOU ORGANIZE YOUR BUSINESS?

I learned about Artwork Archive after the crisis. My laptop hard drive failed, and although I had Excel and paper backups of my inventory and art sales information, the program I was using was gone.

I could reinstall this program on my new laptop and enter the information again. But instead, I decided to see if I could find a working online art inventory system. Through an internet search, I found the Artwork Archive, which was still under development. However, I liked what I saw and it was easy to use. I opened an account and shortly thereafter hired an assistant to help get the unsold work into the new program.

HOW DOES ARTWORK ARCHIVE HELP YOU IN YOUR ART CAREER?

I started working as an artist full time in 2010. Depending on the size, I create between 20 and 40 new original oil paintings every year. On average, over the past six years, I sell half of what I create.

A fine-tuned, practical, reliable, easy-to-use inventory, demonstration, and sales system is needed. The Art Archive offers this for a reasonable fee, and if my device fails, that's all that's lost, not my art recordings. Basically, once I get a job entered into the system, I never have to enter that information again. I love it!

WHAT RECOMMENDATION DO YOU HAVE TO OTHER ARTISTS WHEN CONSIDERING THE ART ARCHIVE?

Do this! If you find it too difficult to enter and organize inventory yourself, hire an assistant. If the amount of work is large and disorganized, start with new work and then keep adding more when there is time.

The first few weeks after the launch of the program, I simply added works as they sold and new paintings as they were completed. This allowed me to get an idea of how the program works and feel like I was off to a solid start in the right direction.

I also created constant opportunities that kept me bringing in new pictures. It can be open days and solo exhibitions. I have found that if I schedule a few of these each year, I work like crazy to get everything into the pre-event inventory program. This is partly due to the excellent label and consignment options that come with the Artwork Archive system.
