French First Lady Brigitte Macron has had plastic surgery in Paris.

France's First Lady Brigitte Macron underwent a three-hour operation at a private hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine before going on summer vacation, according to French media reports.

Brigitte Macron, who is 25 years older than her husband, President Emmanuel Macron, underwent general anesthesia before the operation.

The cosmetic surgery procedure was performed at the American Hospital of Paris, which is very popular with celebrities and has a plastic surgery department offering advanced techniques, including dedicated ones.

Madame Macron, who has spoken in the past of being heavily criticized because of her age difference, was heading for a consultation on July 16.

The next day, she was operated on for three hours and under general anesthesia after returning to the hospital in a convoy of three cars and at least four bodyguards.

The operation went smoothly and the first lady of France was able to leave the American hospital the same evening, according to several French media outlets.

According to French magazines, the chief physician who operated on Brigitte Macron was a "famous and media-friendly plastic surgeon."

No details of the operation or the price, which was likely paid privately, have been released.

French First Lady Brigitte Macron has spent two days following a recovery operation at La Lantern, her official residence in Versailles, west of Paris.

She then traveled to the south of France to join her husband at Fort Bregançon, another summer residence of the Presidents of the Republic on the Mediterranean coast.

France has one of the most respected health services in the world, so the choice of the American Hospital in Paris, founded in 1906, came as a surprise to the wife of the head of state.

Among the celebrities who have been treated at the American Hospital in Paris over the years are movie and song stars: Johnny Hallyday, Adriana Karembe, Rock Hudson and Bette Davis, as well as German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Brigitte Macron, a mother of three, married when she fell in love with teenager Emmanuel Macron, who was her student at a school in Amiens, northern France, where she taught drama.

She later divorced her so they could marry, despite her misgivings about the age difference.

Brigitte Macron is not shy about making fun of her husband's gray hair. Upon learning that Mr Macron's hair was turning gray prematurely, the wife of the head of state told a friend: “Oh, you know, I see this as an advantage, it is that he is aging faster than expected. He's chasing me! »

In comments provided in a recent biography, Gerard Colomb, the former French interior minister, in turn describes his former boss, Mr Macron, as being extremely dependent on his wife. “He touches her fingers all the time. He must see if she is there. I have seen several of these pairs,” said Mr. Collomb.

Philippe de Villiers, another politician, describes Madame Macron as "very young in spirit, more so than her husband," adding, "She is the woman who whispers in the artist's ear."

The authors of "" said that Madame Macron demanded "courage and humor" to support the president, and that she was "feigned and insulted" after she was found "guilty of love and married a man 25 years younger."

There were no immediate comments either at the Elysee Palace about the cosmetic surgery of the first lady of France, Brigitte Macron, or at the American Hospital in Paris.
